Thai coal miner Banpu makes first investment in U.S. shale

BANGKOK, April 20 (Reuters) - Banpu Pcl,

Thailand's largest coal miner, said on Wednesday it had spent

$112 million to buy a 29.4 percent stake in the Chaffee Corners

Joint Exploration Agreement (JEA), a shale gas operation in the

U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
