Nikkei edges up, high-tech shares jump on earnings

TOKYO, May 1 (Reuters) - Japanese stock prices posted modest

gains on Monday as high-tech shares such as Tokyo Electron

and Murata Manufacturing gained on upbeat

earnings in otherwise holiday-lulled trading.
